Hello, to all the viewers. On the behalf of the whole organising committee of" TECH-SANGAM 2011", I welcome you on this blog. The TECH-SANGAM is all about a technical and management fest which is conducted every year in the BIRLA INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, ALLAHABAD campus to provide a chance to our students to show their technical and managerial skills.
This year we are going to have a two days fest which is scheduled to be on 17th and 18th march 2011.

EVENTS
Because of the grand success of the last Techo-Management fest "Tech-sangam 2009", this year we increase the number of events from 7 to 13. The events are as follows...
1. PROGRAMMING (FOR UG & PG BOTH)
Introduction of the event: A test to judge C,C++,DS and JAVA skills of the student. There will be two rounds. First round will be an online quiz which will contain questions related to C. Selected participants will be allowed to appear for second round which will be a code writing round.
Rules: Round 1 is the qualifying round. Only those people who qualify in round 1 will be given a chance in round 2.
2. CIRCUITS(UG & PG)
Introduction: There will be two rounds. First round will be a written test which will have objective questions. Selected participants will go to the second round which will consist of some verbal questions and drawing of a Boolean expression (Chosen from a bowl of expressions) on the board.
Rules: Round 1 is the qualifying round. Only those people who qualify in round 1 will be given a chance in round 2.
3. IQ CHALLENGES (FOR UG ONLY)
Introduction: An online quiz to test the quantitative aptitude and analytical reasoning of the participants. The quiz will comprise of 80 questions to be solved in 60 minutes.
Rules: There is only one round.

4. ONLINE GAMING (FOR UG AND PG BOTH)
Introduction: This event will be organized for two games – Counter strike and NFS(Hot Persuit).
Counter strike entries will be taken in teams of 5 candidates.
NFS – There will be 7 candidates who will be set for the race. Depending on the number of candidates such different sets will be organized. Winner of each set will be sent to the 2nd round.

5. SPELL BEE (FOR UG ONLY)
Introduction: A test to judge the correct spelling capability of the candidate. There will be three rounds in this event. First round will be of a series of questions in the form of filling the blank. Second round the candidates are supposed to spell the word in the given time. The third round will be a rapid fire round in which students will be given a time of 1 minute in which they will have to spend as many words as possible.
Rules: There are 3 rounds. In each round top scorers will be selected for next round.
6. INGENIOUS (FOR UG & PG ONLY)
Introduction: An evaluation of the software developed by the students. Students can choose any programming language according to their convenience. Students will be given a chance to present the software in front of judges and the audience. They will be evaluated on the basis of their way of presentation and the answers given to the questions asked.
Rules: The topic will be give beforehand to the interested students. On the day of the event, they will have to come prepared for the presentation of the software.
7. TECH CHARADE (FOR UG & PG BOTH)
Introduction: An event organized fir the students to test their presence of mind and knowledge of the technical word given. This event invites entries in a team of 3 students. There will be 6 round executed to decide the winner. All the rounds include team work as they are: role play, Draw speaks, Casino, Encoder-Decoder, Word hunt and Show stopper.
Rules: There will be 6 rounds.
8. PLAY WITH LANGUAGES (FOR UG & PG BOTH)
Introduction: A paper-pen technical quiz. Questions will be from C, C++, DS & JAVA.
Rules: For every correct answer marks will be awarded.

9. WHAT'S YOUR SCORE ( FOR UG & PG BOTH)

10. AD-MANIA (FOR UG ONLY)
Introduction: In this event participants have to show their maximum innovation craziness and skills to market their product
Rules: It will consists of 2 rounds. Time will be 4min. for 1st round.Topic
for the poster will be declared 2 days before.

11. JAM- JUST A MINUTE (FOR UG ONLY)
Introduction: It will comprise of three stages(qualifiers, semi final and final). In each round various sets of interesting questions and puzzles will be given to participants which will be solved by them in a minute only. Marking will be done on the basis of score and time taken.
Procedure: In qualifiers slot of 10 students will be considered and we will take 10 students for semifinal among various slots. After semi final 5 students will be taken to final round and hence after competition winner and runner ups will be decided by the jury.
12. PAPER PRESENTATION (FOR UG & PG STUDENTS)
Introduction: It is an event in which one has to come up with his/her innovative ideas on the given topics and show their presentation skills.
Procedure: Participants are invited to present their papers. Every participant will be given 10 min. for their presentation.
13. VERBAL MANAGEMENT QUIZ (FOR UG ONLY)
Introduction: In this event a participant have to answer certain question which will be related to all the products, punch line, abbreviations and stocks etc.
